London Colelctions a/w 13 Day 3

La semana de la moda de caballero en Londres ha acabado pero ¿qué fue lo que vimos el último día? Bueno, este fue el día de frescos estampados: flores por todos lados con acabados metálicos en Katie Eary y monstruos de películas viejas en Christopher Kane. También vimos el humos escocés con tartanes alternativos en Shaun Samson, E. Tautz y Hardy Amies. Pero probablemente el espírito más eccéntrico se manifestó en las prendas bondeadas con extraños volúmenes en Xander Zhou y siluetas femeninas en JW Anderson.

¿Cuáles fueron sus favoritos de este día?

The menswear fashion week at London is over now, but what did we see the last day? Well, this was the day for cool prints: all over flowers with metallic finishes at Katie Eary and old films monsters at Christopher Kane. Also we saw the scottish mood of alternative tartans at Shaun Samson, E. Tautz and Hardy Amies. But probably the most eccentric items were the bonded ones with odd volume at Xander Zhou and the gender-bending at JW Anderson.

Este segundo día tuvimos una excelente vista de lo que viene para el siguiente otoño: desde punto oversize, manchas amarillas en los lugares más extraños a clásicas prendas inglesas, maniquís detenidos en movimiento y sweaters con la famosa Divine tejida a mano.

This second day we had quite a view on the autumn 2013 collections: from oversized knit, sharp tailoring, odd placed yellow spots to classic brit herritage, movement paused mannequins and sweaters with the famous Divine hand-knited.

Bueno, bueno, ¿cuánto tiempo hace que publiqué alguna editorial? MUCHO tiempo. Hoy les dejo esta editorial en blanco y negro, con maquillaje casi-tatuaje y con movimientos dignos de bailar como loco.

Well, well, how long have it been since I posted an editorial? LONG time. Today I leave you this one in black and white photography, tattoo-like makeup and moves worth of dancing like a mad.

Aparentemente "oxblood" es un color de verdad que hasta tiene un código Pantone. Y es un color muy en onda esta temporada especialmente en menswear pues es la evolución del burgundy (borgoña) del otoño pasado pero en lugar de la base púrpura este color tiene una café-oxidada que lo hacen perfecto para usar con café en lugar del usual negro.

Apparently "oxblood" is an actual colour, it even has a Pantone code. And it is a very trendy one this season especially for menswear. It is the evolution of last autumn's burgundy but instead of a purple gaze this colour has a brownish-oxydized haze making it perfect for wearing it with brown instead of the usual black.

Knitwear=Pringle of Scotland

Cuando piensas en tejido de punto usualmente piensas (tal vez sin saberlo) en Pringle of Scotland y sus twinsets de rombos argyle (sí, rombos de César Costa). Tal vez recuerden que esta es una de mis marcas favoritas y que AMO el tejido de punto, así que también es una de mis eternas inspiraciones. Digo, han estar haciendo esto desde 1815, esta gente conoce su chamba. Y para que tú también sepas lo que ellos hacen, te dejo algunos looks de otoño 2012 para que los ames también.

If you think about knitwear usually (even without knowing) you think about Pringle of Scotland and their classic srgyle twinsets. As you may recall, this is one of my favourite brands and as I LOVE knitwear it also is one of my everlasting inspirations. I mean, they have been doing this since 1815, these guys know their job. And for you to know what they are doing, I leave you some autumn 2012 looks to love.

What autumn garment is better than a sweater in statement knit?

El sweater de pescados y el cárdigan de rombos son los sweaters más clásicos y más escoceses, pero eso no quiere decir que sean aburridos. Pringle sabe cómo refrescarlos cada temporada.
The fisherman's jumper and the argyle cardigan are the most classic and scottish knitwear, but it doesn't mean that they are boring: Pringle knows how to refresh them every season.

Mi prenda de caballero favorita: el sweater de espiga (herringbone) bordado. Para apreciar la belleza en esto realmente se necesita el closeup: el tejido de herringbone luce como una tela en tejido plano y sobre este diseño bordaron un herringbone oversize dándole textura y un gráfico aparente de estampado-sobre-estampado.
My favourite menswear garment: the embroidered herringbone jumper. You really need the closeup to admire the beauty in this one: the black and white herringbone knit looks like woven fabric and over this design they embroidered an oversize herringbone giving texture and a pattern-over-pattern apparent print.

Sí, Sir Ian McKellen alguna vez fue joven. Y con mucho estilo. Con tanto estilo que puedes usar su look y aún luce tan fresco como hace cuatrocientos años que él lo usó.

Being in The Hobbit mood and thinking about Galdalf you cannot avoid thinking of Ian McKellen. SIR Ian McKellen. Can you imagine him young?
Yes, Sir Ian McKellen was once young. And very stylish. So stylish that you can also wear that look and it still looks fresh four hundred years after he wore it.
Yes, I do exaggerate.
