SEPTEMBER ISSUE Plaid

Los cuadros son un gráfico muy masculino, sean resultado de la tela, un gráfico, estampado o tejido. Los cuadros siempre vuelven con más fuerza en invierno con colores obscuros. No tiene mucha ciencia el usarlos pero les dejo unas advertencias:

• Los cuadros llamativos son muy difíciles de usar... con más cuadros llamativos. Elige una sola prenda: pantalones, saco, camisa...
• El forro de cuadros es un clásico. Úsalo en cualquier prenda, siempre funciona.
• Usa tartán en prendas en las que normalmente no lo usarías: cuadros grandes y llamativos en pajaritas, pañuelos, calzado, sombreros y bolsas.
• Últimas palabras: Príncipe de Gales. Éstos cuadros lo dicen todo.

Plaid is a very masculine graphic, being it part of the fabric (like the tartan), a graphic, print or knit. The plaid always becomes more fashionable in winter with dark colours. There is not much science in the how to wear plaid, but here are a basic warnings:

• Bold checks are very hard to wear... with more bold checks. It's easier wearing a single bold garment (pants, jacket, shirt...)
• Plaid lining is a classic. Wear it in any garment, it always work.
• Wear tartan in not-so-common pieces: bold and big checks in bow ties, pocket squares, shoes, hats and bags.
• Last words: Prince of Wales. This checks say it all.

SEPTEMBER ISSUE Key Trend: Fur

Piel es sinónimo de invierno y lujo y éste año no es la excepción. Pero tal vez pienses "¿pero usar piel no es demasiado excéntrico para mi?" Bueno, la piel es muy flexible, puede ser muy de tendencia y clásica al mismo tiempo. Aquí el "cómo" para usar piel (y piel falsa también, por supuesto):

• Los detalles de piel en capuchas, solapas, cuellos y puños son clásicos en abrigos, sacos y parkas, y casi siempre se pueden poner y quitar. Así puedes elegir si estás en el humor de un detalle de piel o no.
• Usar un abrigo de pieles es asombroso para quien lo ve, pero un poco difícil para quien lo viste (excepto si eres una chica, entonces usarlo es fácil). Todo depende del largo del pelo y el abrigo en sí: usa pelo corto en una silueta clásica con trajes y atuendos más formales (en sustituto del abrigo de paño que usarías normalmente), y el pelo largo en siluetas muy sencillas combínalo con jeans relajados para volver el atuendo "más real".
• Si no te gusta mostrar las prendas de piel pero te gusta usarla, busca prendas con forro de piel que sólo se asomará un poco en el cuello, solapas o puños.
• Tal vez un abrigo es demasiado para tí pero puedes usar un chaleco. En lugar del chaleco capitonado, usa uno de piel para lucir juvenil y chic.
• Los accesorios siempre son una opción: un gorro, tenis o el forro de las botas para mantenerte calientito y trendy.

Fur is synonymous for winter and luxury and this year is not the exception. But you may think "isn't fur too eccentric for a commoner like me?" Well, fur is very flexible, it can be very trendy and classic at the same time. Here the "how to" for the fur (and of course faux-fur):

• Fur trimming in hoodies, lapels, necks and cuffs are very classic in coats, jackets and parkas and almost always are detachable. This way if you can choose if you are in the mood for a touch of fur, or not.
• Wearing a fur coat is amazing for the sight, but hard to wear (except if you're a girl, ten it's easy). It depends on the fur's length and the coat itself: wear short hair and classic shape with suits and more formal outfits (as a substitute to any other coat) and with long fur and simple silhouettes wear relaxed jeans that make the garment down to earth.
• If you don't dare to show the fur but you like the fur, look for clothes with fur lining that will only show up on lapels, necks or cuffs.
• If a coat is too much for you, you can still try a waistcoat. Instead of wearing a puffer vest, wear a fur one. Very young and chic.
• Accessories are always an option: wear a cap, sneakers or the lining of the boots. Warm and trendy.

SEPTEMBER ISSUE Colour: Yellow

Uno de los pops de color de la temporada es el amarillo: en tono brillante o mostaza. A pesar de que mucha gente no lo cree así, es muy fácil de vestir (aunque obviamente un look total en amarillo NUNCA es aceptable). ¿Quieres saber cuál es el truco? Bueno he aquí los puntos básicos:

• La forma más fácil es usar accesorios, como una bufanda, cartera o zapatos.
• Elige prendas con detalles en contraste amarillo.
• Una prenda básica en éste color automaticamente se convierte en un artículo de moda: una camisa sencilla, un cardigan, sweater o abrigo. Solo recuerda que el color no debe pelear con la prenda: mientras más simple, mejor.
• Haz lo inesperado. Viste en colores obscuros y neutros (como gris o marrón) y agrega un detalle maravilloso que llamará la atención de todos: calcetas amarillas.
• Las prendas exteriores en colores vivos son lindas en invierno. Te protegen del frío, el agua y a veces hasta de los días azules.

One the season's pops of colours is yellow: from bright ones to mustard. Unlike most of the people think, yellow is very easy to wear (of course a yellow total look is NEVER acceptable). Do you wanna know how? Well, here are the key points:

• The easiest way is using accessories, like a scarf, wallet or shoes.
• Choose clothes with contrasting details in yellow.
• A basic garment in this colour is automatically upgraded to ultimate fashion item: simple shirt, cardigan, jumper or coat. Just remember the colour must not fight the clothe: the simpler the better.
• Do the unexpected. Wear neutral dark colours (like gray or brown) and add a marvelous detail that will catch everyone's attention: yellow socks.
• Bright outwear is always nice in winter. It keeps away the cold, the water and some times even the blue.
