Ya sé que esto ya pasó pero he aquí mi selección de looks de las colecciones de Primavera/Verano 2012 de Londres.
Mis favoritos fueron James Long y (obviamente) Topman Design, pero Daks tiene looks hermosos como siempre, Shaun Samson fue una grata sorpresa para le mercado junior y Hardy Amies, Todd Lynn y Paul Costelloe mostraron lindas alternativas de sastrería.

I know this happened centuries ago, but this is my looks selections of the London collections for Spring / Summer 2012.
My favorite ones were James Long and (obviously) Topman Design, but Daks is beautiful as always, Shaun Samson was a nice junior surprise and Hardy Amies, Todd Lynn and Paul Costelloe had pretty alternative tailoring.

La línea más joven de Alexander McQueen se llama McQ y para primavera 2012 nos trae un guardarropa con algo para cualquier ocasión y muy fácil de usar... Pero ¿saben qué? No soy tan fan de ésta colección (TAN es la palabra clave). ¿Por qué? Bueno, es solo porque ésta temporada McQ se convirtió en marc by Marc Jacobs... Y AMO marc by MJ así como AMO McQ, pero sus estilos solían ser diferentes.
Les muestro que no estoy borracha ni nada parecido: he aquí unas comparaciones pequeñas y la colección Spring 2012 completa y ustedes opinen.
Solo para que quede asentado en el acta: me gustó mucho ésta colección, pero siento que pierde un poco de la esencia agresiva y alternativa que tenía antes.
¿O acaso soy la única que lo cree?

The younger line of Alexander McQueen is called McQ, and for spring 2012 brings a wardrobe for every ocassion and very easy to wear... But, you know? I'm not such a fan of this collection (SUCH is the key word). Why? Well, just because this season McQ turned to be marc by Marc Jacobs... and I LOVE marc by MJ but y also LOVE McQ and they used to have such different styles!
I'm gonna show you I'm no drunk or something like that: I leave you some comparisons and the full spring 2012 collection and you can judge.
By the way, I wanna write thet I liked this collection very much, but I fell that it had lost some of the agressive and alternative esence that McQ used to have.
Or am I the only one who thinks so?

Los cuadros son un gráfico muy masculino, sean resultado de la tela, un gráfico, estampado o tejido. Los cuadros siempre vuelven con más fuerza en invierno con colores obscuros. No tiene mucha ciencia el usarlos pero les dejo unas advertencias:

Los cuadros llamativos son muy difíciles de usar... con más cuadros llamativos. Elige una sola prenda: pantalones, saco, camisa...
El forro de cuadros es un clásico. Úsalo en cualquier prenda, siempre funciona.
Usa tartán en prendas en las que normalmente no lo usarías: cuadros grandes y llamativos en pajaritas, pañuelos, calzado, sombreros y bolsas.
Últimas palabras: Príncipe de Gales. Éstos cuadros lo dicen todo.

Plaid is a very masculine graphic, being it part of the fabric (like the tartan), a graphic, print or knit. The plaid always becomes more fashionable in winter with dark colours. There is not much science in the how to wear plaid, but here are a basic warnings:

Bold checks are very hard to wear... with more bold checks. It's easier wearing a single bold garment (pants, jacket, shirt...)
Plaid lining is a classic. Wear it in any garment, it always work.
Wear tartan in not-so-common pieces: bold and big checks in bow ties, pocket squares, shoes, hats and bags.
Last words: Prince of Wales. This checks say it all.

SEPTEMBER ISSUE Key Trend: Fur

Piel es sinónimo de invierno y lujo y éste año no es la excepción. Pero tal vez pienses "¿pero usar piel no es demasiado excéntrico para mi?" Bueno, la piel es muy flexible, puede ser muy de tendencia y clásica al mismo tiempo. Aquí el "cómo" para usar piel (y piel falsa también, por supuesto):

Los detalles de piel en capuchas, solapas, cuellos y puños son clásicos en abrigos, sacos y parkas, y casi siempre se pueden poner y quitar. Así puedes elegir si estás en el humor de un detalle de piel o no.
Usar un abrigo de pieles es asombroso para quien lo ve, pero un poco difícil para quien lo viste (excepto si eres una chica, entonces usarlo es fácil). Todo depende del largo del pelo y el abrigo en sí: usa pelo corto en una silueta clásica con trajes y atuendos más formales (en sustituto del abrigo de paño que usarías normalmente), y el pelo largo en siluetas muy sencillas combínalo con jeans relajados para volver el atuendo "más real".
Si no te gusta mostrar las prendas de piel pero te gusta usarla, busca prendas con forro de piel que sólo se asomará un poco en el cuello, solapas o puños.
Tal vez un abrigo es demasiado para tí pero puedes usar un chaleco. En lugar del chaleco capitonado, usa uno de piel para lucir juvenil y chic.
Los accesorios siempre son una opción: un gorro, tenis o el forro de las botas para mantenerte calientito y trendy.

Fur is synonymous for winter and luxury and this year is not the exception. But you may think "isn't fur too eccentric for a commoner like me?" Well, fur is very flexible, it can be very trendy and classic at the same time. Here the "how to" for the fur (and of course faux-fur):

Fur trimming in hoodies, lapels, necks and cuffs are very classic in coats, jackets and parkas and almost always are detachable. This way if you can choose if you are in the mood for a touch of fur, or not.
Wearing a fur coat is amazing for the sight, but hard to wear (except if you're a girl, ten it's easy). It depends on the fur's length and the coat itself: wear short hair and classic shape with suits and more formal outfits (as a substitute to any other coat) and with long fur and simple silhouettes wear relaxed jeans that make the garment down to earth.
If you don't dare to show the fur but you like the fur, look for clothes with fur lining that will only show up on lapels, necks or cuffs.
If a coat is too much for you, you can still try a waistcoat. Instead of wearing a puffer vest, wear a fur one. Very young and chic.
Accessories are always an option: wear a cap, sneakers or the lining of the boots. Warm and trendy.

Uno de los pops de color de la temporada es el amarillo: en tono brillante o mostaza. A pesar de que mucha gente no lo cree así, es muy fácil de vestir (aunque obviamente un look total en amarillo NUNCA es aceptable). ¿Quieres saber cuál es el truco? Bueno he aquí los puntos básicos:

La forma más fácil es usar accesorios, como una bufanda, cartera o zapatos.
Elige prendas con detalles en contraste amarillo.
Una prenda básica en éste color automaticamente se convierte en un artículo de moda: una camisa sencilla, un cardigan, sweater o abrigo. Solo recuerda que el color no debe pelear con la prenda: mientras más simple, mejor.
Haz lo inesperado. Viste en colores obscuros y neutros (como gris o marrón) y agrega un detalle maravilloso que llamará la atención de todos: calcetas amarillas.

One the season's pops of colours is yellow: from bright ones to mustard. Unlike most of the people think, yellow is very easy to wear (of course a yellow total look is NEVER acceptable). Do you wanna know how? Well, here are the key points:

The easiest way is using accessories, like a scarf, wallet or shoes.
Choose clothes with contrasting details in yellow.
A basic garment in this colour is automatically upgraded to ultimate fashion item: simple shirt, cardigan, jumper or coat. Just remember the colour must not fight the clothe: the simpler the better.
Do the unexpected. Wear neutral dark colours (like gray or brown) and add a marvelous detail that will catch everyone's attention: yellow socks.
Bright outwear is always nice in winter. It keeps away the cold, the water and some times even the blue.

My Picks: Jeans. Since most of their lines are not the very most expensive ones, the jeans with the discount have a wonderful price in the sale.

El look neoyorquino es siempre juvenil y un tanto arriesgado, éste temporada no es la excepción. Veamos las claves de la ciudad:
Workwear. En mezclilla o tonos oxidados la comodidad de la ropa de trabajo fue vista en las pasarelas combinando jeans y shorts con simples camisas y tops cuadrados.
Preppy. El look de los Hamptons se volvió sinónimo de verano con zapatos de bote, camisetas polo, bermudas, camisas a cuadros, chinos y cárdigans en un amplio rango de color de pastel, tonos medios, brillantes y neutros.

Slim. El fit estrecho en sastrería, chinos y jeans se combinó con la emergente silueta alargada en los tops así como con básicos trenchcoats, cárdigans y camisas ajustadas.

Tribu Urbana. La influencia juvenil de las rockpunkgothraras tribus urbanas se vio en las colecciones con tranparencias, pantalones carrot, cuadros, rayas, mezclas de estampados, negro y modelos tatuados.

Workwear. In denim and oxy tones the confort of workwear was seen on the catwalks pairing jeans and shorts with simple shirts and boxy tops.
Preppy. The Hamptons look became a synonymus of summer with boat shoes, polo shirts, bermudas, check shirts, chinos and cardigans in a wide range from pastel colours, midtones, brights and neutrals.
Slim. The slim fit in tailoring, chinos and jeans was paired with the upcoming enlongated sillouehette in tops as well as ageless trench coats, cardigans and slim shirts.

Bueno, usualmente uno no ve las colecciones de otras fashion weeks, así que echémosle un ojo a la frescura de Madrid y las claves que se vieron ahí.
Neutral. Los tonos neutros dan frescura a cualquier look.Se vieron en sastrería y en orendas más arriesgadas.
Print Mix. Los estampados mezclados fueron un básico en éstas colecciones. Mientras más llamativos, grandes y extraños sean, es mejor.
Brillante. los tonos brillantes fueron vistos no sólo como pops de color, sino en prendas y hasta colecciones completas.
Blanco. Como contraparte de los tonos brillantes se vió mucho blanco usado en total look o mezclado con tonos pastel o náuticos.

Well, you usually don't see the collections from other international fashion weeks, so let's take a look to the fresh Madrid and the key from that city.
Neutral. The neutral colours give freshness to the looks. They were seen in tailoring and edgy garments.
Print Mix. The mixed prints were a statement in plenty of the colelctions. The brightest, boldest, strangest the better. Look at colours spots, flowers, stripes, checks and ethnic graphics.
Bright. The bright colours were not only pops but were seen in every garment of full collections.

Gypsy. Mixed prints in different garments, patchwork and accessories give this free as a bird sensation. So, don't be afraid to the flowers and textures.

"The Traveler" is all about adventures, discovering and, of course, the comfort for all kind of activities.
Just mix and match all kind of sportswear and classic garments; also the use of floaty sheer fabrics in all kind of items are a basic for this trend. The colour are midtones and neutrals: olive, navy blue, beige, gray, black and pops of mustard. Use not so common macs, parkas and trenches full of pockets, don't be afraid of layering shorts and leggins, look for not-so-basic items and complete the look with a tote, lace up booties or gladiator sandals.
With this advices, you'll be ready for anything anywhere.

This first one is about THE colour for the summer: the true indigo blue. This bright shade will be a basic appearing in almost each and every catwalk in the world, from total look to pop of colour. If you wanna upgrade your winter wardrobe, just add this colour in a basic garment (you don't even need a trendy garment). There's no easier way to become fashionable this summer.

¡Ya sé! No he escrito mucho últimament y, las semanas de la moda de París y Milán ya se acabron... ¡lo siento tanto! Pero no he posteado por una excelente razón: ésta temporada otoño/invierno va a haber una visión diferente de las colecciones presentadas en éste blog. El formato de highlights sigue aquí con TODOS los desfiles de cada ciudad, pero ahora mis 10 colecciones favoritas tendrán más fotos además de una ilustración de moda con mi salida favorita de la colección. Además he tomado de inspiración a un chico stylish para cada ciudad y así ellos so vuelven los "modelos" de mis ilustraciones.

I know!! I haven't posted a lot lately, and Paris and Milan fashion weeks are long over... I'm so sorry! but, I haven't posted for an excelente reason: this season there will be a different approach to the designer's colelctions in this blog: still the highlights format will be there with EVERY catwalk from the city, but now my top 10 favourite collection will display many photos from the runway and a fashion illustration with my favourite look from the collection. Plus, for every city there's a super stylish guy that I've taken as inspiration, and they will be my "models" for this illustrations.

Las dueñas tienen la ropa, coolaboran con algún fotógrafo y hacen editoriales para mostrar ésta ropa al mundo en maneras hermosas e interesantes. Y si ésto no es suficientemente bueano, todas las prendas pueden comprarse en su website.

At this rate everyone knows I'm a fan of Pascal Grob's Blog, and there I have read about this Swiss vintage shop called Kimandra. They have their clothings, get a photographer and make editorials to show them to the world in a very beautiful and interesting way.
